Skopos Certified with the Carbon Trust Standard with help from GBN
Kirklees textile company Skopos has been awarded the Carbon Trust standard following the success of its three year carbon reduction plan.
The Carbon Trust Standard is the world’s first carbon award and requires businesses and organisations to measure, manage and reduce their carbon emissions across all operations.
The GBN was pleased to help Skopos in the initial stages of certification, providing the company with an environmental audit and helping them calculate their carbon footprint. The GBN’s Environmental Business Advisor Jim Porter said: “This is a great example of what businesses can achieve. Skopos deserve this recognition and the benefits that come along with it, such as cost savings and an enhanced reputation as a market leader”.
Skopos Design is one of only a few manufacturers to achieve this level of consistent carbon footprint reduction (a total of 21% over the last three years) which involved energy saving initiatives throughout the business.
